SAN FRANCISCO, June 8, 2022 — Qualio — the trusted cloud quality management system for the entire life sciences ecosystem — announced significant growth in the first half of 2022 including: the addition of a new Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Stone; expanded business and technology integration capabilities; and an enhanced consulting partner program — all while more than doubling its customers year over year.
Mike Stone joined Qualio as Chief Marketing Officer in May 2022. Previously, he was CMO at Outlier AI and Airship. He has also worked at notable technology organizations such as Salesforce, Peoplesoft, and HP. At Qualio, Mike will take a leadership role in continuing to build a customer-centric brand and reinforce Qualio’s stature as the most trusted platform for quality management optimization.
“As the emerging life sciences ecosystem evolves post-pandemic, these companies and the organizations that support them run up against silos of data and broken processes that impede their ability to get critical products to market,” said Robert Fenton, CEO and founder, Qualio. “Life sciences products save, prolong, or improve lives. We take our mission to enable life sciences companies to launch and scale life-saving products faster very seriously, and that’s why we’ve doubled down on product, people, and partner growth over the last few months.”
Today, fragmented data and workflows, information gaps, and disconnected platforms continue to slow the path to market for life sciences leaders. Development, regulatory, and go-to-market processes have become more complex as these companies have become more specialized and reliant on partnerships. In fact, a recent survey of Qualio customers uncovered that life sciences companies rely on a minimum of five business-critical supplier partners for product development, delivery, and support stages of the product life cycle. Each of these companies have their own processes and silos of information – leading to lost time and resources if they are not effectively connected.
To address these collaboration and data integration challenges, Qualio focused on building powerful API integration capabilities. Integrating Qualio with other business systems can deliver dramatic time, cost, and efficiency savings, while streamlining compliance activity and bringing quality, account management, customer success, and development teams into lockstep. Integrations available today include Asana, Azure DevOps, ComplianceWire, Jira, Salesforce, TestRail, and Xray — as well as single sign-on functionality for Azure/Office 365, Google Suite, and Okta. Qualio customers are already benefiting from these integrations, including Empatica, which integrated Jira and Qualio to streamline collaboration between their software development and quality management teams. As a result, Empatica was able to reduce time to submission by 90%, a significant milestone for a company that is helping to build the future of decentralized clinical trials.
In just the last six months, Qualio also launched its Partner Program. The Qualio Partner Program already has nearly 200 members, all of whom are qualified quality management consultants with decades of process and regulatory experience. Qualio will further reinforce its commitment to their partner channel with the launch of an enhanced Partner Program later this summer. These enhancements will benefit Qualio partners — and the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotech companies they serve — by arming them with the latest quality and regulatory resources and educational assets aimed at accelerating the speed at which they can collaboratively launch and scale life-saving products.
As a result of the company’s focus on life sciences innovation and collaboration, Qualio has expanded its client base significantly in 2022. Many of Qualio’s life sciences customers are also realizing record growth and product expansion. For example, Fifth Eye — a software as a medical device company that provides clinicians unique, real-time information on patient status — recently passed a notable regulatory audit and certification in record time. Fifth Eye CEO Jen Baird offered this insight on the business value of the Qualio partnership: “Clinicians and the patients they serve are depending on our technology to help predict episodes of hemodynamic instability an average of 48 minutes ahead of vital signs based on input from an ECG signal alone. For us and those who use Fifth Eye, speed means everything. Partnering with Qualio has allowed us to accelerate regulatory approvals and certifications, while also maintaining a strong culture of quality, which is absolutely essential in an industry that is focused on saving patient lives.”
This latest momentum follows Qualio’s recent designation as one of the Best Workplaces in 2022 according to Inc. Late last year, the company also launched Qualio Plus and Qualio Plus Audit, two new service-based offerings that are empowering life sciences leaders to expedite go-to-market by streamlining a secure, end-to-end quality management strategy. Qualio also tripled the size of their in-house advisory team in 2021 to provide a full scope of services to life sciences companies looking to accelerate speed and safeguard quality.
